Being HIPAA Compliant in 45 Days
Deadlines can sneak up on even the most well-run organization, as one of our customers - a world-renowned children's hospital - discovered. While they were up-to-speed on the remediation requirements of HIPAA, they did not have a learning management system (LMS) or specialized content in place to meet the necessary education requirements.
Through the use of our LMS, Critical Educator, Decision Critical not only gave this customer the capability to produce custom reports which proved that each of their 7,000 employees was HIPAA compliant, but we also settled another issue for them. As a "content independent" company we had the kind of open architecture and partnership approach that ensured a smooth relationship between ourselves and Triage Training, the customer's preferred provider of HIPAA content.
From the opening of contract negotiations to having 95% of their 7,000 employees – spread across 42 locations – becoming HIPAA compliant took just 45 days.
This example highlights the value of an application service provider in contrast to the typical software implementation. Once the customer had pilot tested the content, all that was left for them to do in order to “go live” was open their web browser.”
